This book is a gift from <a title=\"Lafz media on facebook\" href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/LAFZ-Media\/188068107913623\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">LAFZ Media<\/a> for <a href=\"http:\/\/lafzonline.com\/magazine\/issue2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">my first article in their online magazine.<\/a> Considering my keen interest in Muslim history, especially in Mughal architecture, the editor of LAFZ, Mr. Yasser Chaudhary, chose this book for me, and let me say honestly, it really, really sates my thirst in various ways; I&#8217;m really grateful to LAFZ media.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The title was enough to tell the whole story. The table of contents made my curiosity 2x, and finally, the diversity of content around a single theme made this research such a valuable piece of work on this topic; I just covered two chapters, and it&#8217;s not letting me make a bookmark to read later on.<\/p>\n<p>Written by Nuzhat Kazmi, this invaluable book looks at the artistic output of the Islamic civilization from the time of its inception to its interpretations in the contemporary world. Various photographs support their relevant topics and sections, hence making this script a complete source of reference for any reader on this topic.<\/p>\n<p><em>Islamic Art: The Past and Modern<\/em> covers the different aspects of islamic arts under following heads:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Art of Painting<\/li>\n<li>The Art of\u00a0Calligraphy<\/li>\n<li>The Art of Carpet and Textile Weaving<\/li>\n<li>Decorative Islamic Art: <em>Pottery, Ceramics, Glass and Metal<\/em><\/li>\n<li>The Art of Architecture<\/li>\n<li>Islamic Art and the Modern World<\/li>\n<li>Major Dynasties<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Seems the last page flip will not take too long.
