\nWhere we find the Stone of the Pregnant Woman<\/strong><\/p>\n

Roman Quarry is a\u00a0quiet, magical place full of history, mystery, and wonder\u2014right in the heart of Lebanon. More than 2,000 years ago<\/strong>, the Romans<\/strong> came to the Bekaa Valley<\/strong> to build their massive temples in Baalbek. But first, they needed something very important: giant stones<\/strong>. So, they created this quarry<\/strong>\u2014a special place where they cut the stones from the ground.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Here, they carved out some of the largest stones ever cut by humans<\/strong>! One of the most famous is called the \u201cStone of the Pregnant Woman,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0and it weighs over 1,000 tons<\/strong>. That\u2019s heavier than 150 elephants!<\/strong><\/p>\n

They did all this without modern machines<\/strong>\u2014just with hand tools, wooden rollers, ropes, and manpower<\/strong>. No one knows exactly how they planned to move such heavy stones, and some were so big<\/strong> they were never moved at all<\/strong>. They still lie in the quarry today.<\/p>\n

The above block is a single piece of stone, and weighs an estimated 1,000 tons<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Why do people call the above stone \u201cStone of the Pregnant Woman\u201d? Well, there are many stories! One legend says a pregnant woman knew the secret of moving it. Another says the stone brings luck or fertility<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Romans were incredible builders. This quarry shows how smart and skilled they were, even with simple tools.<\/p>\n

Today, visitors come from all over the world to see the giant blocks<\/strong>, take photos, and imagine how powerful and clever the ancient people must have been.<\/p>\n
