1. PMBOK® Guide – 7th Edition (and Agile Practice Guide)

Let’s start with the source.

The PMBOK® Guide by PMI is the core reference for the exam. It’s no longer the sole study material, but you still need to be familiar with it — especially terms, processes, and the Agile Practice Guide that comes with it.

Pro Tip: Don’t try to memorize it all. Read it to understand key principles, especially the shift towards value delivery and agile practices.

2. Rita Mulcahy’s PMP Exam Prep (10th Edition or Latest) – PMP Study Resources

If the PMBOK feels too dry or technical, this book is a lifesaver. This is my all-time favorite.

Rita’s PMP Exam Prep is no doubt the most loved book among PMP aspirants. It simplifies complex topics and focuses heavily on how to think like a project manager, which is exactly what the exam tests. Includes chapter questions, realistic scenarios, and great exam strategies.

3. Andrew Ramdayal’s PMP Exam Prep (2025 Update)

For those who prefer a more straightforward, no-fluff approach.

Andrew’s book and YouTube channel are goldmines for both predictive and agile concepts. The bonus? You get access to practice exams and an app when you purchase the book.

4. Online Courses That Actually Help

If you’re a visual learner, online courses can make a huge impact.

  • Udemy – Joseph Phillips’ PMP Course
Budget-friendly and aligned with the latest PMP exam content outline. Great for brushing up fundamentals.

  • LinkedIn Learning PMP Course by Sandra Mitchell
A high-level course that complements other resources well.

  • PMTraining or Simplilearn
For a more structured, instructor-led environment.

5. Simulator & Mock Exams

Practicing under exam-like conditions is non-negotiable.

The best mock exams offer:

  1. Situational questions
  2. Time tracking
  3. Explanations for answers

Try these:

  • PrepCast PMP Simulator
  • PMTraining Practice Exams
  • Edwel Practice Test Booklet

Aim to score above 75% consistently before booking your actual test.

6. Apps & Flashcards for Daily Practice

Use micro-moments throughout the day for mini-revisions.

  • PMP Pocket Prep (App Store & Play Store)
Bite-sized practice questions on the go.

  • Quizlet PMP Flashcards
Thousands of cards are already available, or make your own.

  • PMP Exam Mentor (Android/iOS)
Daily reminders, formula sheets, and test questions in your pocket.

7. Community & Study Groups

Sometimes, just being in the right company makes all the difference.

  • Reddit’s r/PMP

  • Facebook PMP Study Groups

  • LinkedIn Groups for PMP Preparation

Ask questions, share doubts, and stay motivated.

Final Thoughts

Finding PMP study resources is different for everyone. Everyone has a different learning style. The key is to pick a combination of resources that suits you. Personally, I used a mix of PMBOK, Rita, mock exams, and YouTube tutorials — and it worked.

No matter where you are in your prep journey, these tools will help you stay on track and get certified in 2025.

So, which PMP resource has helped you the most? Comment, and let’s help each other grow.
